Customer Rating: Summary: Not very good. Comment: This product didn't work well. It had virtually no range, or signal improvement. i returned it and changed cell providers: much better and cheaper results.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not good enough Comment: I bought the YX510 over two months ago; only a handful of successful calls so far. I can still get a better signal on my phone by setting it in an upstairs window than I can with this unit's antenna mounted on the roof above it. Worse, the signal rises and drops during calls. I've spent hours with Wi-ex customer service, and they replaced the base unit once (it also ran a bit hot). The second unit displays notably different behavior in the operational lights. Customer service seems to ignore calls and emails for a bit, then suddenly get very active and sympathetic. They confirmed the correctness of the installation, and are suggesting I need a directional antenna. I'm reluctant to spend even more time and money on this, especially given the nearby electric wires and 25-30' of ladder required! Apparently, this thing works only in certain situations, and unfortunately, I tried too long to make it work, and now can't return it. BTW, I noticed a "dealer" on Wi-Ex's web site that wasn't too far away. I called; no answer; I couldn't leave a message because his voice mail mailbox "was full". Not an auspicious omen.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works But Not As Advertised Comment: We decided to pick up this device as one of the guys in the office is getting a home office and has poor cell phone reception in his basement. Seeing the 2500 sq feet range, we thought that this would be a great item to get to help with his cell phone.
Setup went fine, getting a signal to his phone did not. Installation was just connecting co-ax cable to the base unit and the antenna. We made sure the base was the proper distance away from the antenna and tried the phone. No signal. Tried moving the box and still no signal. Moved the box to within feet of the phone and finally picked up a signal.
I can say that this does get you a signal, but the 2500 sq feet should read more like 2.5 sq feet, if that.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works Great with Correct Antennae Placement Comment: When I first got this and hooked it up it didn't really work that well. Then I sat down and read the manual and now understand how critical antennae placement is. Followed the recommendations and now it works great. I went from almost nothing, to five bars back in my bedroom.
I have noticed that it does lose signal for a few seconds randomly while I'm on a call. It doesn't drop the call completely, there's just a brief second when I can't hear anything. I think it might be the unit's signal competing with the actual signal from outside.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works as advertized, just follow the directions Comment: I went from nearly zero coverage in the house to 4 out of 5 bars (both AT&T and Verizon, haven't tried Sprint PCS yet). Mounted the antenna in the attic and put the base on a second floor table. Coverage within 1000 sq. ft. of the base is quite good but drops off quickly after that.

The zBoost cell phone signal booster extends a zBoost Cell Zone for single or multiple users in homes or offices. zBoost Dual Band is compatible with all phones operating on PCS (1900Mhz) and CEL (800 MHz) except Nextel. This package comes with everything you need to start right out of the box including amplifier base unit, power supply, base unit antenna, low-loss SATV coaxial cable (RG-6), signal antenna and mounting hardware. The omni-directional antennas are easy to orient and receive from multiple cell towers. zBoost improves indoor cell phone coverage by capturing and repeating the outside signal, bringing it into the building and enhancing it. This process creates a "Cell Zone" in the home, office or car. Works with most phones and carriers (maintains network integrity) Coverage - (open areas) With 4-5 signal bars at roof antenna, system will provide 3-4 bars inside over 10,000 square feet Base Unit Dimensions - 5 x 7 x 2 / Weight - 12 ounces

Wireless technologies are more and more popular because they linked the mobile network and Internet together. One of these modern technologies are Wireless LAN (WLAN), Bluetooth,
and Wireless Application Protocol
(WAP) are implemented as an extension to or
as an alternative for wired LAN to make the
communication more flexible and powerful to fulfill today’s need.
WLAN is one of the modern one, effectively Ethernet without wires.
It helps users to access a data network like the
Internet at high speeds of up to 11 megabits per
second (Mbps) as long as users are located
within a relative short range (typically 30–50
meters indoors and 100–500 meters outdoors)
of a WLAN base station (or antenna). This is a good alternative to most laptop users to assess Internet and getting popular most part of the developed world.
